Forestry is one of New Zealand’s most important primary industries and Streat Automation have been involved in a number of major projects

Nelson Pine: Energy Centre Automation & commissioning of the Energy Centre.

Nelson Pine: Saw Controller Automation upgrade of a 15 year old Siemens PLC with a Rockwell ControlLogix PLC and Intouch HMI and PDL variable frequency drives. The system automatically cuts stacks of MDF into various shaped packs selected by the operator. The changeover was achieved in the planned two-week downtime with the new system delivering much better performance and reliability.

CHH Rangiora: Line 1, Line 2 & Energy Centre Automation & commissioning.

CHH Rangiora: Engineering Consultancy on various projects including safety system upgrades, legacy PLC support (PLC5) and tender evaluation.

CHH Tasman: SMAR Foundation Fieldbus for the Lime Kiln and Causticising plant with iFIX HMI and Rockwell PLC5’s.

Goldpine Industries: Modifications to a cut optimisation system using high speed processing and laser scan technology.
