Streat Automation’s location in the South Island and the experience of our engineers in the hydro industry makes us ideally suited to assist with projects.

Solid Energy Stockton 11kV Substation: Control system to monitor and control 11kv/415V switchgear and transformers using a MicroLogix PLC, RSView SE Supervisory, SEL and Schneider MicroLogic relays.

Solid Energy Stockton 33kV Substation: Control system to monitor and control 33/11kV switchgear and transformers using a MicroLogix PLC, RSView SE Supervisory and SEL relays.

Meridian Energy: MEAPL Remote telemetry system for small hydro stations in Australia controlled from New Zealand. The system uses RSView32 and satellite Internet links to a master station in Twizel. Optimisation of the amount of data was an important consideration for this project.

Meridian Energy: Manapouri Modifications to crane control system in the underground powerhouse.

Contact Energy: Roxburgh Generator controls and alarms using eight Siemens S5 PLC’s and a dual redundant Macroview HMI with Sun Sparc servers and Solaris operating system.

Contact Energy: Roxburgh Sluice gate control system using a Siemens S5 PLC and Macroview HMI & OP37 operator interface.

Contact Energy: Roxburgh Spillway gate control system using a Siemens S5 PLC and Macroview HMI and hand-held remote radio control unit.

TrustPower: Control system for 9 generators at Coleridge and 1 generator at Highbank. Canal control based on turbidity was also implemented to protect Lake Coleridge.
